Fellowship
Coffee Hosts
After each of the Sunday morning worship services, all members of the congregation are invited to move to the hall and stay for a few minutes and enjoy a cup of coffee. Individuals, families and groups host the coffee hour. This is an important time to meet new members and catch up with the weekly activities of friends.
Ladies' Guild
The Ladies' Guild is a group of St. Mark's women whose meetings offer opportunities for people to hear speakers and discuss subjects of interest to those involved. In addition, the guild provides a service to parishioners by catering funerals and other parish events.
Men's Group
St. Mark's Men's Group meet the third Monday of each month. The focus of the meeting is on good conversation, the occasional planning session and eating freshly baked muffins washed down with good coffee.
The group is involved in general maintenance tasks, such as replacing lights and painting. The men prepare dinners for the parish at various times throughout the year. The Gobbler Dinner, Paddy's Feast and the 5M Diner (in conjunction with the Holly Jolly Faire) are examples.
Men in St. Mark's parish, who seek Christian Fellowship, should join the Men's Group. There is a chance to exercise skills and knowledge in keeping St. Mark's safe, welcoming and well maintained.
Other Social Events
Throughout the year, a number of other social events are arranged to fit the interests of all ages. In the summer, we have a golf tourament and garage sale. Various dinners are prepared by the men's group. In the fall, soup and sandwich lunches and the Holly Jolly Faire have become popular. There are several Toddler Parties throughout the year also. We are planning a child/parent seminar to address bullying and a Safety seminar for seniors. Members with fellowship/fundraising ideas are welcome to speak with the wardens or church staff and become involved. All members of the parish are encouraged to watch for information in the bulletin and newsletter, as well as information on the church web site's "What's Happening" page and take an active part in the social activities at St. Mark's.
